Padartha (Word-by-word):
सुख (To the happy) मैत्री (friendliness) दुःख (to the suffering) करुणा (compassion) पुण्य (to the virtuous) मुदिता (joy/delight) अपुण्य (to the unvirtuous/harmful) उपेक्षाणाम् (equanimous neutrality) भावनातः (by cultivating these attitudes) चित्त-प्रसादनम् (the mind attains undisturbed clarity and serenity).
Translation:
By cultivating friendliness toward the happy, compassion toward the sorrowful, delight in the virtuous, and neutral equanimity toward the non-virtuous, the mind attains lucid peace and pristine clarity.
