bāhyābhyantara-stambha-vṛttiḥ deśa-kāla-saṁkhyābhiḥ paridṛṣṭo dīrgha-sūkṣmaḥ ||

Step-by-Step Practice Method
  1. Sit comfortably with spine tall and shoulders relaxed
  2. Exhale completely to empty the lungs
  3. Inhale slowly through the nose for a count of four
  4. Hold the breath for a count of four
  5. Exhale slowly through the nose for a count of four
  6. Hold the breath out for a count of four; repeat for 5-10 rounds
