मन में खोट भरी और मुख में हरी,
फिर मंदिर में जाने से क्या फ़ायदा ।
मैल मन का धोया, बदन धो लिया,
फिर गंगा नहाने से क्या फ़ायदा ॥
मन में मूरत प्रभु की उतारी नहीं,
है सब से बड़ा तो भिखारी वोही ।
धन दौलत पे तू क्यूँ गुमान करे,
जब संग ही ना जाए तो क्या फ़ायदा ॥
तू रोज़ रामायण है पढता मगर,
व्यर्थ है पढ़ के मन ना उतारी अगर ।
ना माने पिता माँ के कहना जो तू,
फिर रामायण पड़ने से क्या फ़ायदा ॥
उपदेश तो अच्छे तू देता फिरे,
और करता करम तू सदा ही बुरे ।
पहले खुद पे करो तुम अमल बाद में,
