    The Story of King Harishchandra:<\/strong> King Harishchandra was known for his absolute truthfulness. To test him, the gods created an illusion where the King dreamt of donating his entire kingdom to Sage Vishwamitra.<\/p>\n

    When he woke up, he honored his dream and gave away his kingdom. To pay the additional fee (Dakshina) to the sage, he had to sell his wife, his son, and eventually himself to a cremation ground keeper (Chandal). He spent years living in extreme poverty and sorrow, working at the cremation ground.<\/p>\n
