चन्दा मामा जल्दी आओ, मेरे मन को हरषा रे॥

पति की लम्बी उमर के खातिर, निर्जला व्रत किया है॥
चलनी में चन्दा देखूँ, फिर पति का मुख देखूँ।
करवा चौथ की कथा सुनूँ, पति के चरण परस लूँ॥
सात जनम का साथ हो, यही माँगूँ विधाता से।
करवा चौथ का व्रत पूरा, पति के हाथ से पानी से॥
गौरी माता शिव भोले, सदा सुहागन रखना।

Karwa Chauth ka vrat hai pyara, piya ke liye rakha re,
Chanda Mama jaldi aao, mere man ko harsha re.
Mehendi rachi haathon mein sakhi, solah shringaar kiya hai,
Pati ki lambi umar ke khatir, nirjala vrat kiya hai.
Chalni mein Chanda dekhun, phir Pati ka mukh dekhun,
Karwa Chauth ki katha sunun, Pati ke charan paras lun.
Saat janam ka saath ho, yahi maangun Vidhata se,
Karwa Chauth ka vrat poora, Pati ke haath se paani se.
Gauri Mata Shiv Bhole, sada suhagan rakhna,
Karwa Chauth Mubarak sabko, prem ka bandhan rakhna.
The Karwa Chauth fast is beloved — kept for the husband’s sake. “Come quickly, dear Moon, and bring joy to my heart!” Henna adorns the hands, sixteen adornments are worn.
