Hori khelat Nandlal, Biraj mein hori khelat Nandlal,
Kanha ne bhar pichkari maari, Radha bheegi gaal.
Udat abeer gulaal laal bhaye, Braj ke sab baalak,
It Gopi ut Gwaal khelat, Gokul bhayo Phaagun.
Shyam Sundar ne rang udaaya, laal gulabi peela,
Radha ne bhi rang daara, bhayo man rangeela.
Hori khelat Nandlal, aaj Barsane mein Holi,
Radha Krishna ki jodi bhaari, prem rang mein boli.
Nandlal (Krishna) plays Holi in Braj! Kanha filled his water-gun and sprayed Radha — her cheeks got drenched. Colored powder flies in the air — all children of Braj turn red. On one side gopis, on the other cowherd boys play — Gokul becomes Phaagun (spring). Shyam Sundar threw colors — red, pink, yellow. Radha too threw colors back, and hearts became colorful. Today in Barsana, Holi is being played. Radha and Krishna’s pair is divine — they speak in the language of love’s color.
