॥ दोहा ॥
जय ब्रह्मा जय स्वयम्भू, चतुरानन सुखमूल।
करहु कृपा निज दास पै, रहहु सदा अनुकूल॥
तुम सृजक ब्रह्माण्ड के, अज विधि घाता नाम।
विश्वविधाता कीजिये, जन पै कृपा ललाम॥

जय जय कमलासन जगमूला। रहहु सदा जनपै अनुकूला॥
रूप चतुर्भुज परम सुहावन। तुम्हें अहैं चतुर्दिक आनन॥
रक्तवर्ण तव सुभग शरीरा। मस्तक जटाजुट गंभीरा॥
ताके ऊपर मुकुट बिराजै। दाढ़ी श्वेत महाछवि छाजै॥
श्वेतवस्त्र धारे तुम सुन्दर। है यज्ञोपवीत अति मनहर॥
कानन कुण्डल सुभग बिराजहिं। गल मोतिन की माला राजहिं॥
चारिहु वेद तुम्हीं प्रगटाये। दिव्य ज्ञान त्रिभुवनहिं सिखाये॥
ब्रह्मलोक शुभ धाम तुम्हारा। अखिल भुवन महँ यश बिस्तारा॥
अर्द्धांगिनि तुम साчеत सुहावन। तुम बिनु तुमको कोउ न पावन॥
चार मुख तुम जपहिं दिन राती। गावत वेद सकल निगम पाती॥
कमलपुष्प कर माहिं बिराजै। अक्षमाला सोहै अति साजै॥
पुस्तक पुस्तक कर माहिं धारे। ज्ञान हेतु जग माहिं बिचारे॥
दण्ड कमण्डलु कर माहिं लीन्हे। सकल लोक तुमही उपजीन्हे॥
अश्वमेध तुम यज्ञ करायो। इन्द्र देव को पद दिलायो॥
ब्रह्माणी तुमको ध्यावे। सकल सिद्ध तुमको मन भावे॥
जो तुमको नित ध्यान लगावै। सो जन मोक्ष पदहिं पावै॥
तुम उपकारी तुमहिं सुखदाता। तुमहिं सकल जग के विधाता॥
तुमहिं आदि तुमहिं अन्त। तुमहिं सकल जग के भगवन्त॥
ब्रह्मा चालीसा जो गावै। सो जन सुख सम्पति पावै॥
जो यह पढ़े और करावे। सो जन भवसागर तरि जावै॥

ब्रह्मा आदि देव जग के, तुमको शत शत नमन।
दास हमैं निज जानकै, कीजै कृपा निरंजन॥

Jo Tumko Nit Dhyan Lagavai. So Jan Moksh Padahi Paavai ||
Tum Upakari Tumhi Sukhdata. Tumhi Sakal Jag Ke Vidhata ||

Brahma Chalisa Jo Gaavai. So Jan Sukh Sampati Paavai ||

अर्थ: हे स्वयंभू ब्रह्मा, आपकी जय हो! आप चारों मुखों वाले हैं और समस्त सुखों के आदि स्रोत हैं। हे प्रभु, अपने इस दास पर कृपा कीजिए और मुझ पर सदैव अपनी अनुकूल दृष्टि बनाए रखिए।
Victory to Brahma, the self-existent Lord! You are the four-faced creator and the very origin of all happiness. O Lord, please bestow your divine grace upon this servant and always remain favorable towards me.
अर्थ: आप ही इस संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड के सृजनकर्ता हैं। आपके नाम अज (जो जन्म रहित हैं), विधि (जो विधान करते हैं) और घाता (जो सब कुछ नियंत्रित करते हैं) हैं। हे विश्व के विधाता, इस सेवक पर अपनी अनुपम और सुंदर कृपा बरसाइए।
You are the sole creator of this entire universe. Your names include Aj (the unborn), Vidhi (the ordainer), and Ghaata (the controller of all). O Ordainer of the universe, please shower your exquisite and beautiful grace upon this humble devotee.
अर्थ: हे कमल पर विराजमान, संपूर्ण जगत के मूल कारण, आपकी जय हो, जय हो! आप सदैव अपने भक्तों पर कृपावान और अनुकूल बने रहें।
Victory, victory to You, O Lord seated upon the lotus, the very root and origin of the entire universe! May You always remain benevolent and favorable towards Your devotees.
अर्थ: आपका चतुर्भुज (चार भुजाओं वाला) दिव्य रूप अत्यंत मनमोहक और परम सुंदर है। आपके चारों दिशाओं में मुख हैं, जो आपकी सर्वज्ञता को दर्शाते हैं।
Your divine four-armed form is supremely enchanting and beautiful. You possess faces in all four directions, symbolizing Your omniscience and all-pervading presence.
अर्थ: आपका शरीर रक्तवर्ण (लाल आभा वाला) और अत्यंत सुंदर है। आपके मस्तक पर गंभीर और भव्य जटाओं का मुकुट सुशोभित है।
Your body possesses a beautiful reddish hue and is exceedingly charming. Your head is adorned with a crown of profound and majestic matted locks.
अर्थ: आपके मस्तक पर मुकुट सुशोभित है, और आपकी श्वेत दाढ़ी अत्यंत भव्य शोभा बिखेर रही है।
A crown majestically adorns your head, and your white beard radiates immense splendor.
अर्थ: आप सुंदर श्वेत वस्त्र धारण किए हुए हैं, और आपका यज्ञोपवीत (जनेऊ) अत्यंत मनमोहक है।
You are adorned in beautiful white garments, and your sacred thread (Yagyopaveet) is exceedingly captivating.
अर्थ: आपके कानों में सुंदर कुंडल सुशोभित हैं, और आपके गले में मोतियों की माला शोभायमान है।
Beautiful earrings gracefully adorn your ears, and a pearl necklace splendidly graces your neck.
अर्थ: आपने ही चारों वेदों को प्रकट किया है, और तीनों लोकों को दिव्य ज्ञान का उपदेश दिया है।
You alone manifested the four Vedas and imparted divine knowledge to all three worlds.
अर्थ: ब्रह्मलोक आपका परम शुभ निवास स्थान है, और आपका यश संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड में विस्तृत है।
Brahmaloka is your supremely auspicious abode, and your glory is spread throughout the entire universe.
अर्थ: आपकी अर्धांगिनी (पत्नी) देवी सरस्वती अत्यंत सुंदर और ज्ञानमयी हैं। उनके बिना आपको (सृष्टि के रहस्य को) कोई प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता।
Your divine consort, Devi Saraswati, is truly beautiful and conscious (of all knowledge). Without her, no one can truly comprehend or attain you (the essence of creation).
अर्थ: आप अपने चारों मुखों से दिन-रात निरंतर जप करते हैं, और सभी वेद तथा समस्त शास्त्र आपकी महिमा का गान करते हैं।
With your four faces, you continuously chant day and night, and all the Vedas and sacred scriptures sing your glories.
अर्थ: आपके हाथों में कमल का पुष्प सुशोभित है, और अक्षमाला (रुद्राक्ष या मोतियों की माला) अत्यंत सुंदर रूप से सजी हुई है।
A beautiful lotus flower adorns your hand, and a rosary (Akshamala) is exquisitely arranged, enhancing your divine form.
अर्थ: आपने अपने हाथों में पवित्र पुस्तकें (वेद और शास्त्र) धारण की हुई हैं, जिन्हें आप जगत में ज्ञान के प्रसार और चिंतन के लिए रखते हैं।
You hold sacred books (Vedas and scriptures) in your hands, which you carry for the dissemination of knowledge and contemplation in the world.
अर्थ: आपने अपने हाथों में दंड (छड़ी) और कमंडल (जल पात्र) धारण किए हुए हैं। समस्त लोकों की उत्पत्ति आपसे ही हुई है।
You hold a staff (Dand) and a water pot (Kamandalu) in your hands. All the worlds have originated from you alone.
अर्थ: आपने अश्वमेध यज्ञ संपन्न कराया और देवराज इंद्र को उनका उचित पद प्रदान किया।
You orchestrated the Ashwamedha sacrifice and bestowed Lord Indra with his rightful position.
अर्थ: देवी ब्रह्माणी आपका ध्यान करती हैं, और सभी सिद्धियाँ आपको अत्यंत प्रिय हैं।
Goddess Brahmani meditates upon you, and all accomplishments (siddhis) are exceedingly dear to you.
अर्थ: जो कोई नित्य आपका ध्यान करता है, वह मनुष्य मोक्ष के परम पद को प्राप्त कर लेता है।
Whoever meditates upon you daily, that person attains the supreme state of liberation (moksha).
अर्थ: आप ही उपकार करने वाले हैं, आप ही सुख प्रदान करने वाले हैं, और आप ही संपूर्ण जगत के रचयिता (विधाता) हैं।
You are the benefactor, you are the giver of happiness, and you are the creator (Vidhaata) of the entire universe.
अर्थ: आप ही आदि (आरंभ) हैं, आप ही अंत हैं, और आप ही संपूर्ण जगत के परमेश्वर (भगवन्त) हैं।
You are the beginning, you are the end, and you are the Supreme Lord (Bhagwant) of the entire universe.
अर्थ: जो भक्त श्रद्धापूर्वक इस ब्रह्मा चालीसा का गान करता है, वह मनुष्य निश्चित रूप से सुख और समस्त प्रकार की संपत्ति प्राप्त करता है।
The devotee who devoutly recites this Brahma Chalisa, undoubtedly attains happiness and all forms of prosperity.
अर्थ: जो भक्त इस चालीसा का स्वयं पाठ करता है और दूसरों को भी इसके पाठ के लिए प्रेरित करता है, वह मनुष्य इस संसार रूपी भवसागर को पार कर जाता है।
The devotee who himself recites this Chalisa and inspires others to do so, successfully crosses the ocean of worldly existence.
अर्थ: हे जगत के आदि देव ब्रह्मा, आपको मेरा शत-शत (सैकड़ों) बार प्रणाम है। मुझे अपना तुच्छ दास जानकर, हे निर्मल और पवित्र प्रभु, मुझ पर अपनी अहैतुकी कृपा बरसाएँ।
O Brahma, the primeval deity of the universe, I offer you hundreds of salutations. Recognizing me as your humble servant, O immaculate and pure Lord, shower your unconditional grace upon me.
