Salutations to You, O Lord! O Lord of the Universe! O Greatly Resplendent One! O Omniscient One! O Soul of all beings! O Lord of all! O Witness of all! Salutations to You.

सप्तारुणाय देवाय सहस्रांशुमते नमः। सप्तसप्तिप्रियायैव सप्तलोकैकचक्षुषे॥

Saptarunaya Devaya Sahasramshumate Namah | Saptasaptipriyayaiva Saptalokaika Chakshushe ||

अर्थ: सात घोड़ों वाले रथ पर आरूढ़, सहस्र किरणों वाले देव को नमस्कार है। सात घोड़ों के प्रिय, सातों लोकों के एकमात्र नेत्र स्वरूप आपको नमस्कार है।

Salutations to the Deity who has seven horses (chariot), who possesses a thousand rays. Salutations to the one dear to seven horses, who is the sole eye of the seven worlds.

नमः सवित्रे जगदेकचक्षुषे जगत्प्रसूतिस्थितिनाशहेतवे। त्रयीमयाय त्रिगुणात्मधारिणे विरिञ्चिनारायणशंकरात्मने॥

Namah Savitre Jagadeka Chakshushe Jagatprasooti Sthitinashahetave | Trayeemayaya Trigunatmadharine Virinchi Narayana Shankaratmane ||

अर्थ: उस सविता (सूर्य) को नमस्कार है, जो जगत का एकमात्र नेत्र है, जो जगत की उत्पत्ति, स्थिति और विनाश का कारण है। जो तीनों वेदों का स्वरूप है, तीनों गुणों (सत्व, रज, तम) को धारण करने वाला है, और ब्रह्मा, विष्णु तथा शिव का आत्मस्वरूप है।

Salutations to Savita (the Sun God), who is the sole eye of the universe, the cause of the creation, sustenance, and dissolution of the world. Who is the embodiment of the three Vedas, the bearer of the three Gunas (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas), and the very soul of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
