अर्थ: हे माँ दुर्गे, इस संसार में तुम्हारे बिना जीवन की कठिनाइयाँ अत्यंत भारी हैं। हे अनाथों की नाथ, हे अम्बे, अपनी करुणा का विस्तार करो। बार-बार के जन्म-मरण के चक्र से हमें मुक्त करो। जय देवी, जय देवी, महिषासुर का मर्दन करने वाली देवी की जय हो! जय देवी, जय देवी, महिषासुर का मर्दन करने वाली देवी की जय हो!
O Durga, without You, the difficulties of this world are immense. O Mother, the protector of the helpless, extend Your compassion. Free us from the cycle of repeated births and deaths. अर्थ: तीनों लोकों में देखने पर तुम्हारे जैसी कोई और नहीं है। चारों वेदों ने भी तुम्हें जानने का प्रयास किया, परंतु कुछ भी कह न सके। छहों दर्शन भी तुम्हारे रहस्य को समझने में असमर्थ होकर प्रवाह में बह गए। हे माँ, तुम अपने भक्तों पर शीघ्र ही कृपा करती हो। जय देवी, जय देवी, महिषासुर का मर्दन करने वाली देवी की जय हो!
Looking across the three worlds, there is none like You. The four Vedas tried to describe You but could say nothing. The six philosophies, in their debates, were swept away in the current (unable to comprehend You). O Mother, You quickly bestow grace upon Your devotees. अर्थ: हे प्रसन्न मुख वाली देवी, तुम अपने सेवकों पर प्रसन्न होती हो। हमें क्लेशों से मुक्त करो और संसार के बंधनों को तोड़ दो। हे अम्बे, तुम्हारे बिना कौन हमारी आशाओं को पूर्ण करेगा? नरहरि तुम्हारे चरण कमलों के अंश में तल्लीन हो गया है। जय देवी, जय देवी, महिषासुर का मर्दन करने वाली देवी की जय हो!
